Park Hae Jin, Lim Ji Yeon, Park Sung Woong, And More Impress At Script Reading For Upcoming Drama
Upcoming SBS drama “The Killing Vote” has shared photos from its script reading!
Based on the popular Kakao Webtoon of the same name, “The Killing Vote” asks the question “What is your idea of justice?” and delves into the concept of a nationwide death penalty vote against vicious criminals who deftly manage to escape the law’s blind spots. The truth pursuit drama highlights the story of a figure known as “Gae Tal” who executes the death penalty depending on the results of the vote as well as the police who pursue the justice put forward by Gae Tal.
Director Park Shin Woo and writer Jo Yoon Young were present at the script reading along with cast members Park Hae Jin, Park Sung Woong, Lim Ji Yeon, Shin Jung Geun, Kim Yoo Mi, Kim Kwon, Choi Yu Hwa, and more.
Park Hae Jin plays Kim Moo Chan, the head of Team 1 of the regional investigation unit at the Southern Provincial Police Agency. He is the youngest man to become the team leader of a regional investigation unit in the shortest period of time, and he is likely to make any interesting case his. Park Hae Jin conveyed the dynamism and depth of the character with powerful focus and energy. He portrayed Kim Moo Chan perfectly—right down to his facial expressions, tone of voice, and eyes—as if he had already done a thorough character analysis.
Warning: mention of sexual assault in the next paragraph.
Park Sung Woong stars as Kwon Suk Joo, a long-term prison inmate who turned himself in after personally killing the culprit who sexually assaulted his eight-year-old daughter. He was once Korea’s most famous legal expert, and he is still respected as a teacher-like figure and referred to as “professor” within the prison. Park Sung Woong portrayed Kwon Suk Joo, a three-dimensional character who walks the line between good and evil, with unwavering eyes and a deep, low voice that intentionally hides his emotions.
Lim Ji Yeon plays the role of Joo Hyun, a fifth year lieutenant at the Cyber Security Bureau of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Joo Hyun was once the ace of the Cyber Investigation Team after being specially hired, but now she has become known by everyone to be a nuisance who is always under fire. In addition, Kim Yoo Mi, Shin Jung Geun, Kim Kwon, Seo Young Joo, Choi Yu Hwa, and Kwon Ah Reum added solidity to “The Killing Vote” with their powerful performances.
Overall, the atmosphere at the script reading was intense, with the actors fully immersing themselves in their characters without showing any signs of exhaustion throughout the script reading and the production team putting in a lot of effort into details to ensure a high quality project. Between the impressive performance of the cast members and the production team’s effort, viewers are highly anticipating the premiere of “The Killing Vote.”
